After Chivas already played their first three games of Clausura 2022, it’s clear that they need a new striker that could join Ángel Zaldívar on the offensive side, something that Marcelo Michel Leaño hasn’t understood, as he doesn’t seem to be looking to acquire someone else.

So far, Zaldívar has been the only true forward able to score for Chivas, but Michel Leaño insists on starting one of his favorites, César Huerta, although he hasn’t score during Clausura 2022 and he only scored once last season.

César Huerta played for a semester with Mazatlán FC on a loan, where he was one of the most remarkable players of Los Cañoneros that season, something that Michel Leaño thought he could replicate with Chivas, although it hasn’t happened yet.

César Huerta’s numbers with Chivas

Although Huerta debuted with Chivas in 2018, he became a regular for El Rebaño Sagrado for Apertura 2021. So far, he’s played a total of 33 games wearing Chivas colors, with disappointing numbers for a forward, as he’s only managed to score one goal and assisted another occasion.
