Since arriving in Chivas, Marcelo Michel Leaño hasn’t been able to turn thing around for El Rebaño Sagrado, as he has only won 3 games out of the 12 he has coached the Guadalajara team. Part of his failure has to do with the tight roster he has.

But his failure also has to do with the lack of a clear project to follow, as he arrived in Chivas bench just because he’s a close friend of Amaury Vergara, the current owner. His lack of experience becomes evident after deciding to give José Juan Macías a place in Chivas instead of giving a young promising player a chance.

Macías still has the opportunity of continuing his career outside Chivas, as Sporting Kansas City is still looking to add him for the 2022 MLS Season, but in the meantime, his arrival in Guadalajara is closing the door to Luis Puente.

Who is Luis Puente?

The 18-year-old striker has been part of Chivas academy teams since 2014, but Michel Leaño hasn’t give him any chances to prove his worth with the senior team, not even after being part of the Mexico National Team U-17 that was runner up in the 2019 U-17 World Cup and been considered as one of the 60 young promises of 2020 by The Guardian, alongside Marcelo Flores.
