The crisis that Club América currently is dealing with not only has to do with the lack of results they’ve had in Clausura 2022 -they’ve only won two games after 11 rounds and have 10 points in total-, but also with the poor performances the players are having.

Club América will finally have a new coach to replace Santiago Solari

During the first 10 games of the season, whether it was with Santiago Solari or Fernando “Tano” Ortíz, the Azulcremas didn’t have a clear idea of what they were playing, as they were unsynchronized, and the mistakes were the only constant thing for Las Águilas.

But for the game against Toluca, they managed to beat 3-0 Los Diablos Rojos, as they finally worked as a team and almost no one was out of tune, which is why they only needed 17 minutes to earn the victory, although they could have increased the score if Henry Martín had better aim.

That’s why “Tano” Ortíz is considering relegating Martín to a secondary role, as he hasn’t been able to prove his worth to the team, because even on the best game they’ve had in the season, he couldn’t score at least once.

Who is the player that will replace him?

According to reports, Fernando Ortíz, who was coaching the U-20 squad before Solari was sacked, will give the academy players more opportunities in the first team, especially on the positions that Las Águilas need help.

After the performance that Esteban Lozano had with the Mexican U-20 national team on their tour in Uruguay, where he scored one of the goals on the 2-2 draw against Peñarol, Ortíz knows he has earned his chance to play on the first team.

Lozano has yet to make his debut in Liga MX, although he has been called a couple of times and has been close to doing it. But he already debuted with the first team in the CONCACAF Champions League, where he played 8 minutes against Atlanta United.

What will happen to Martín?

According to the report of W Deportes, Martín could be offered to another Liga MX team over the summer, and he could even be involved in a trade with Tigres for Nicolás “Diente” López, as Miguel Herrera likes the Mexican striker and has erased “Diente” López from his squad.
