The brawl that happened in the stands of Estadio Corregidora keeps bringing consequences to all the parties involved, as even four police officers were arrested for their involvement in the battlefield that became the home of Club Querétaro.

He wants to arrive in Qatar 2022 and his best chance of doing it is returning to Club América

But the biggest punishment arrived for the team, as the franchise returned to their former owners, Jorgealberto Hank and Grupo Caliente, who will have to sell the team by the end of 2022, something that most likely will happen at the end of Clausura 2022.

For now, several parties have shown interest in acquiring the team and relocating it prior the start of the 2022-23 season, although there’s still hope from some people that the new owners will keep the team in Queretaro, something that looks almost impossible.

So far, teams like Atlante, Tampico Madero from Grupo Orlegi, Dorados de Sinaloa and even Veracruz, who could have investment from City Football Group are the parties that are trying to acquire their promotion to Liga MX thanks to Querétaro’s franchise, but there’s another team that is pursuing the return to Mexico’s top flight, and all thanks to Cuauhtémoc Blanco.

Cuauhtémoc Blanco is interested in having a Liga MX team in Michoacán

During an interview with TUDN, he remembered that on the start of his career, he had to endure given that he earned $40 per week, until he became one of the highest-paid players in Club América and the Mexican national team.

Now, away from the soccer industry and involved in politics, he currently is Governor of Michoacán, he is looking to give his state a Liga MX club, something that they haven’t had since Monarcas Morelia moved to Mazatlán.

His project is to relocate Club Querétaro in Estadio Coruco Díaz and rename it as Club Atlético Zacatepec, team that hasn’t been in Liga MX since the 80s, although they’ve been playing in lower divisions until 2020, when they relocated to Morelia and changed names.

Can he buy Club Querétaro?

Although he is more than interested, he wouldn’t be able to acquire the franchise by himself, as he can’t be involved with a soccer club while he’s also governing a state, but also, according to reports, Gallos Blancos are worth $40 million, a figure he would have to finance through different investors that would take care of the team in his place.
