The Auriazules ended the tournament differently from how they started it, as they were the tournament leaders for two rounds.

At the end of the tournament, they were beaten 4-1 by Chivas, which came just a few days after the team was defeated in the final of the CONCACAF Champions League.

As a result, the club's board of directors has already begun the process of restructuring the team, and the names of the players who will leave the club due to the expiration of their contracts or because the team wants to transfer them are already being discussed.

In addition to Diogo de Oliveira Barbosa, the other players who could leave the club are Alfredo Talavera, Higor Meritao, Washington Corozo, and Efraín Velarde, who must meet with their representatives and the club's board of directors to find out if they will continue to be part of the squad.

The case of Talavera is the best known and although the Mexican press has said that the player will go to play for Chivas, this information has not been confirmed by either the club or the player. 

The player's contract has already expired and any club that would like to take him would do it for free, however, offers have not yet started to arrive at the Pedregal club. 

Apart from the case of Talavera, no rumors have been generated about whether the other players have attracted the attention of other Liga MX clubs.

Of the five players that make up the list of those who could leave the club, the one that fans will miss the most is Alfredo Talavera since it was his saves that allowed Pumas to dream of winning the CONCACAF Champions League and Liga MX titles. 

And the numbers support how much the Auriazules fans would miss him if his departure from the club is confirmed, as Talavera was the goalkeeper who ranked second in the number of saves in the Concachampions, with 19 saves for his club.  

The other player that will be missed by Universitarios fans will be Diogo de Oliveira, who was the only Pumas UNAM player to score a goal in Sunday's game in which Chivas eliminated the Auriazules. 

Diogo has endeared himself to Pumas fans because of his height and strength, as well as his ability to snatch the ball easily from his opponents. 

On the other hand, both Washington Corozo and Efraín Velarde are players that Universitario fans want to see out of the team. The former because although he is fast, he needs to make better decisions in the opponent's area.

And as for Velarde, the Auriazules fans claim that he no longer has the physique to compete in Liga MX 2022.
