Santiago Solari had to leave Club América after eight rounds given the poor results that he achieved in Clausura 2022, as he left Las Águilas standing last with only six points after one victory and three ties, including the one against Querétaro on his last game.

If he arrives in Club América, Nicolás Larcamón will bring this player with him from Club Puebla

In his place, Las Águilas decided to promote Fernando “Tano” Ortíz, who was coaching the U-20 team, as interim coach until they decide who is going to have the job, but it seems that they haven’t figured out who is the best choice for a team like América.

But before Las Águilas choose a new coach, Emilio Azcárraga is considering making more moves in Club América’s structure, as the project of Santiago Baños has been staggering for a while as he was responsible for the failure of Solari and the lack of good additions.

That’s why he’s considering parting ways with Baños and has been looking for someone that can replace him first, who has a solid project and an idea to returning the team to their former glory. According to reports, the chosen one could be Daniel "Ruso" Brailovsky.

Will he arrive to Las Águilas?

Brailovsky resigned from his position as TV analyst a few weeks ago, opening the possibility of his return to the Azulcrema structure, given that he’s coached Las Águilas in the past and won three titles during his stint as a player.

If he ends up returning to El Nido, Brailovsky already knows who is going to be the coach that replaces Santiago Solari for good, as he was very supportive of the process and the project that Miguel Herrera had in his second stint with Las Águilas, one that was cut short by Baños, who wanted to have Solari in the dugout.

Will Herrera be willing to return to América?

Even if Miguel Herrera is currently coaching Tigres, where he had a rough start but finally managed to get on a streak, he hasn’t closed the door to an eventual return to América, although he now knows that Las Águilas need a player like André-Pierre Gignac.

For América, that player might as well be Carlos Vela, who is ending his contract with Los Angeles FC over the summer.  Herrera could convince Vela to arrive in Las Águilas given that he was the coach that trusted him to return to El Tri, which left a good relationship between the two.
