Club América will visit Club Puebla on Wednesday night in Estadio Cuauhtémoc for the first leg of the quarterfinals of Clausura 2022 after La Franja beat Mazatlán FC in the Repechaje game, where they ended up winning in a penalty shootout after the game tied 2-2 in regular time.

Club América and Cruz Azul are after Juan Dinenno, which team will he choose?

Club América managed to finish the regular season standing fourth, just one spot over Club Puebla, as both teams had the same number of points, 26, but the goal difference favored Las Águilas, given that Los Camoteros had an irregular closure.

América was able to finish in the top four thanks to the good streak that they establish since Fernando “Tano” Ortíz took over the team, as they didn't lose a game of the last eight that they played, including a six-game winning streak.

But not everything is good inside the locker room, as it was revealed that there's one player that will leave Club América as soon as the season is over, and given that he already made up his mind, not even winning the Liga MX title will convince him to stay.

Who is the player that will leave?

One of the biggest issues that Club América was going to face entering the summer transfer window was on the goalkeeper position, as both Guillermo Ochoa and Óscar Jiménez will finish their contracts in December, which gives them the chance of starting negotiating with any teams that they wanted.

But according to reports from TUDN, given the few playing time that he has had during his stint with Las Águilas, Óscar Jiménez is looking to leave before his contract expires, as he already requested his transfer once Clausura 2022 is over.

Jiménez played three games in the 2022-23 season, the three of them in Apertura 2021, as for Clausura 2022 he hasn’t being on the pitch. Since he joined Las Águilas in 2017, the 33-year-old goalkeeper has played a total of 26 games, receiving 23 goals, and having 10 clean sheets.

Where will he play next season?

One of the teams that is looking for a reliable goalkeeper is CD Toluca, as they haven't had a good goalkeeper since Alfredo Talavera left, which is why they are pursuing the addition of Jiménez for Apertura 2022.
