Juan Ignacio Dinenno has become one of the best strikers that have arrived in Liga MX in recent years, as in the last year he scored 19 goals for Pumas, nine of them in the CONCACAF Champions League, where he earned the golden boot.

But the 27-year-old Argentine forward will become a free agent at the end of the year, which is why if Pumas want to earn something in return for his economic rights, they will have to sell him in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Given the good performances that he’s have since he arrived in Liga MX back in 2020 at least two Mexican teams have showed interest in him: Club América and Cruz Azul, as both teams have a need in the offense, given that they have lacked a good striker in Clausura 2022.

While Las Águilas have Henry Martín and Federico Viñas -none of them were able to contribute much- La Máquina currently has a lack of strikers after the departure of Brayan Angulo in April, leaving them with just Santiago Giménez and Iván Morales.

Will he play for Las Águilas or La Máquina?

According to reports from W Deportes, although Tigres and CF Monterrey also have Dinenno on their radar, it is both Club América and Cruz Azul the clubs that have more chances of adding the 27-year-old striker for Apertura 2022.

Although he could still remain at Pumas, where he’s played 89 games and has scored 40 goals and six assistances, if they agree on a contract extension, it looks difficult that Los Universitarios will be able to refuse a good offer, given the economic situation that they’re going through.

That’s why he already made up his mind, as he said during an interview with Diario Olé that he would never play for Club América due to his history with Los Universitarios, which is why Cruz Azul has become the main candidate to add him for next season.

How much will they have to pay?

Given the productivity that Dinenno has had with Pumas, his market value has risen in the past few months, which is why if Cruz Azul were to acquire him, they will have to pay at least $5 million, which according to Transfermarkt, is his current market value.
