Although Guillermo Ochoa is 36 years old, he doesn’t have plans for retiring anytime soon, as he recently revealed during an interview that he dreams to play for Real Madrid, and for as long as he remains active, that chance still exists.

The Mexico international recently revealed that prior his arrival at Ligue 1 side AC Ajaccio, he was in negotiations with PSG, one of France’s biggest clubs, but due to the clenbuterol scandal where he was involved, the negotiations ended, and he ended playing for Ajaccio.

If his career would have taken him to PSG instead, his chances of becoming a Merengue would have increased, as he ended playing for Málaga CF, Granada CF and then Belgian side Standard Lieja before returning to Liga MX.

Ochoa will be 37 when the 3033 FIFA World Cup begins, although he expects to have a job ensured before that, given that his contract will expire at the end of the year, and he hasn’t started negotiating with Club América a contract extension.

A new club is after Guillermo Ochoa

If Las Águilas don’t intend on signing him, their best option would be selling him over the summer transfer window, as that would at least make them recover part of the investment they did when they signed him back in 2019.

Several reports suggest that one of the main interested in Guillermo Ochoa is MLS side Charlotte FC, who made their debut in the Major League Soccer this season, and they are still trying to add a player that becomes the face of the franchise.

The thing that makes this offer more attractive than others is the high salary that he could receive in the MLS, as The Minted Team of the Carolinas are willing to pay him $6 million per season, a considerable increase from his current salary of $4.5 million per year.

How much will they have to pay for him?

According to Transfermarkt, the current market value of Guillermo Ochoa is set at $1.6 million, sum that Charlotte FC will have to pay to Club América for his economic rights, unless they wait until December to sign him for free.
