Club América looking for a defender after Emanuel Aguilera’s departure
The Peruvian international joined Boca Juniors back in 2020.
Atlas finally announced their first addition for Clausura 2022 after Jesús Angulo left Los Zorros to join Tigres. Now, Diego Cocca’s team acquired Emanuel Aguilera out of Club América, which leaves Las Águilas with a spot to fill on their defensive side.
Aguilera wasn’t part of Club América’s squad for their opening match against Puebla as he tested positive for Covid, but even if Las Águilas were able to take a point out of Estadio Cuauhtémoc, they are inclined on adding another defender to strengthen the squad.
Carlos Zambrano has caught Club América’s eyes, not only because his long experience playing in European leagues, but also because his affordable price, as Boca Junior’s center back market value is $1.5 million.

The 32-year-old Peruvian defender hasn’t been part of Battaglia’s starting XI, as he only played on 5 games last season. After joining the Argentinean outfit back in 2020 from Dynamo Kyiv, he’s played 33 games, and he’s managed to score two goals.
