Amaury Vergara already decided who is going to be the next coach of Chivas
El Rebaño were eliminated in quarterfinals by Atlas FC.
Chivas couldn’t make it into the semifinals as they fell against one of their biggest rivals in the quarterfinals, they lost the first leg 2-1 in Estadio Akron and then tied 1-1 in Estadio Jalisco, giving Atlas FC the ticket to the next round.
More Chivas news:
Now that their participation in Clausura 2022 came to an end, one of the biggest questions surrounding Chivas is who is going to be their next coach, as since Amaury Vergara became the owner of the team he hasn’t been able to establish a solid long-term project.
For now, El Rebaño Sagrado hasn’t said a thing about the continuity of Ricardo Cadena, who was named as interim coach of Chivas after they decided to part ways with Marcelo Michel Leaño given the poor results that he achieved during his stint.
Ricardo Peláez, sporting director of Chivas, has been looking for a new coach since Michel Leaño left, and according to reports from ESPN, he already interviewed five candidates that could assume the role for Apertura 2022.
Amaury Vergara already took a decision
Cadena only coached Chivas for seven games in Clausura 2022 but he was able to change the face of the team and even established a record in El Rebaño, as he is the only coach that has taken the team mid-season and win five consecutive games.
Even if he showed his inexperience during the quarterfinals, the first games that he coached Chivas were enough to convince Amaury Vergara of giving him the opportunity of coaching El Rebaño for Apertura 2022, according to reports from Sancadilla.
The only problem that Cadena is now facing is that the sources inform that Vergara hasn’t given Ricardo Peláez any time on his schedule to inform him about his decision, which is why El Rebaño hasn’t made any official announcements.
Peláez doesn’t want Cadena
Among the five coaches that Ricardo Peláez interviewed, Ricardo Cadena wasn’t an option, as he firmly believes that the Mexican coach doesn’t have the experience needed to be in front of a team like Chivas, something that he feels was evident in the quarterfinals.
