Messi: the war that broke out because of him in Manchester City and that brings problems to Pep Guardiola

Manchester City is one of the greatest candidates to sign Lionel Messi on June. The British club is waiting for the Argentinian legend to decide his future, after he said he wanted to leave FC Barcelona after 20 years and his contract expires on less than four months.

Even though it remains unknown where the historical no. 10 would play, the Citizens have their chances due to the good relationship between him and Pep Guardiola and Sergio Aguero. But, the possible arrival of Messi has already brought some problems to Manchester City, according to the reports of the local press.

Kevin De Bruyne played the key role of a no. 10 for the club during the last years and the possible arrival of Messi threatens him. The Belgium ends his contract on June 2023 and the offers he received from the club are lower than the ones he expected, as he thinks that part of that money would be invested in Messi’s mega contract.

De Bruyne arrived to the club in 2015 from VfL Wolfsburgo for $80 million and played 245 matches, scoring 60 goals and giving 104 assists so far. His time at the club could end because of Messi, who is yet thinking if Manchester City is the best option and comparing the offer received with the one of Paris Saint-Germain, the other great candidate to sign him.
