Ever since he started playing, he was a controversial player, but his talent on the pitch was unmatched, especially in a generation that was called to clean the name of a team that couldn’t play in the 1990 World Cup after the Cachirules scandal.

Even though he had enough conditions, he wasn’t considered for the 1994 World Cup, when he was on his prime and lost his chance of ever playing on a World Cup. During those years, his market value was worth $3.3 million. He kept playing for 6 more years, until he retired in 2000 with Club Atlante.

But now, more than 20 years later, Miguel Herrera promotes a painting brand on his social media as part of the viral image he’s created for himself since becoming a coach, and especially after the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where he coached El Tri.

What else does Miguel Herrera does?

He debuted as a coach in 2002 with Atlante, just two years after he retired with the same team. So far, he’s coached Monterrey, Club América, Tijuana and Mexico National Team. Herrera currently coaches Tigres UANL.
