Gennaro Gattuso's controversial statement about Napoli that even angered Chucky Lozano

Napoli had a great start of season. However, the team coached by Gennaro Gattuso was defeated by Alkmaar Zaanstreek in their Europa League debut. In addition, the Italian club lost the last game against Sassuolo in the Italian Serie A and it´s currently in fifth place with 11 points in six games.

After the loss to Sassuolo in the San Paolo Stadium, the former Milan center-midfielder talked at press conference and mentioned the game. He said that the forwards of Napoli weren't able to take advantage of many opportunities in the game and assured that the team could have done better.

Then, the 42-year-old Italian coach made a comment that became immediately viral on social media. He said the goal of the team is to end their season in the top four of the Serie A, because the games in the Italian Seria A are all difficult and the championship is very balanced. For this reason, the fans of Napoli strongly criticized him.

Generally speaking, the supporters of the Italian team blamed him for being a conformist. They said that Napoli is a big team and therefore it should always try to get the first place in the championship. Mexican striker Hirving Lozano would also have been annoyed by the comment, as he has a very competitive and winning attitude.
