The release of FIFA 22 has got many gamers talking and choosing their best players again. EA Sports released the latest edition of the game on October 1st to the worldwide audience and it has been a success. As always, the gamers are looking to choose the players with the highest ratings in the game and the teams with the best players also. The players ratings cover aspects of their games like pace, shooting, strength, dribbling and defending.

Even on FIFA games, the rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo remains tough as ever.  In FIFA 22, for the 11th year running, both players have achieved a rating higher than 90. And since the inception of the game, at least one of Messi or Ronaldo has ended up in the Top 3 rated players. Over the 17 editions of the game released so far, Messi and Ronaldo have shared the highest ratings position between them. This year Lionel Messi took the crown with an overall rating of 93 to better Cristiano Ronaldo who was rated 91. We will look at their ratings from FIFA 06 all through to the latest FIFA 22.

On 4 occasions, both players have had the same rating. However, the sum of all Cristiano Ronaldo's ratings add up to 1570, slightly edging Lionel Messi on 1546.
