Alan Mozo Rodrigues is one of the rising stars in Mexican football. The UNAM right-back has been impressive for the Liga MX side since he broke into the first team in 2017. Alan Mozo's success can be attributed to self-belief as well as talent. Since a young age, the player has always believed in himself and that shows. 


   Alan Mozo wanted to play for UNAM when he was young

Recently, it came to light that Alan Mozo wrote a moving letter while he was 9 years old to introduce himself and to state his desire to become a professional footballer. The excerpts of the letter written by Mozo was revealed to be: "My name is Alan Mozo Rodriguez. My favourite teams are Barcelona and the Pumas and I want to be a professional soccer player.” 

Alan Mozo Rodrigues career statistics so far

Alan Mozo started his footballing career with the youth teams of UNAM in 2011. He progressed through the ranks and made the first team in 2017, making his debut for the club on September 16th 2017 in a 1-1 Liga MX clash against Guadalajara. Since then, the 24-year-old has made a total of 129 appearances for the Mexican side, scoring a solitary goal so far. For his excellent performances at right-back, Alan Mozo was selected as part of the Best XI for the Liga MX Clausura 2018.


   Alan Mozo starred for Mexico at the Toulon Tournament

On the international scene, Alan Mozo played in the U-23s for Mexico, representing his country in the Toulon Tournament in 2019. He helped Mexico to place 3rd in that tournament. Mozo was also part of the Mexican team that prosecuted the 2020 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Championship which Mexico won gold. Mozo made his debut for the Mexico senior team on October 2nd, 2019 in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago.
