Zinedine Zidane openly shamed one of the players who want him out

The environment at Real Madrid has not been exactly the most appealing in the last two months, at the point there was a split in the locker room between the group of players who supported Zinedine Zidane and the group who did not. The players on the Zidanist side where the ones in the core of the group, while the ones who did not play a lot were in the opposite side.

Fortunately for the manager, the important victories the team got in the last week put some peace into the squad. And today, Zizou attended a press conference where he was asked by Isco, someone who was his favourite player some years ago, but after underperformances in the last times he was relegated to the bench and joined the anti Zidane group.

Zidane told he will never forget the good times he had, and he is sorry for benching him because he loves his players, but Isco has to work and put the effort, something he is not doing. He thinks it is enough with those good past times, but it is not. Although Zidane said he regrets not giving minutes to someone with his skills but he will be important again.

Isco was considered a key player, and Zidane chose him over Gareth Bale in the UEFA Champions League finals of 2017 and 2018 versus Juventus and Liverpool respectively. But the time passed, his performances stopped being good enough, he gained weight (3 kilos or 6,6 pounds) and currently, sometimes he does not even goes to the bench.
