Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta formed one of the greatest midfielders ever, not to say the best one. At FC Barcelona they were untouchables and gained the most important titles of the world, helping Lionel Messi to be one of the greatest players ever, not to say the best one.

Xavi left Barça on July 2015 after 20 years at the club. He then joined Al-Sadd SC Qatari side, that was the last club in which he played professionally. On 2019, he decided to announce his retirement and, since then, he stayed at the same club but now as the main coach, signing a contract until June 2021.

But the future of Xavi is set to be linked with Barcelona. The idol is very identified with the club and there are concrete chances of him returning. The candidate to president Víctor Font has offered him the position of sport adviser and that is the way in which he could return to his beloved club.

In Spain, the press is already thinking on who could be the players involved in Xavi’s project and one of the names that appear in that list is the one of Riqui Puig. The midfielder that has trouble with Ronald Koeman is seen as Xavi as one of the possible successors of him and Iniesta and will be a key part of the project if he arrives.
