America and Tigres will face each other next Sunday in order to qualify directly for the final stage of the Liga MX and avoid the first round of the playoffs. It will be a very heated game as there is only one point between them: America is in fourth place of the standings with 28 points and Tigres is in fifth place with 27 points.

André-Pierre Gignac is one of the most important players who will take part in the match. The 34-year-old Frenchman is one of the best strikers in the Liga MX and is the second top scorer in the tournament with 10 goals. That is why many clubs would like to count on him.

At least, that's who manager Manuel Lapuente thinks. The 76-year-old Mexican, who has been the coach of both America and Tigres, said he believes that all the big teams in Mexico are jealous of Tigres because they have Gignac. He also said that he is one of the best strikers he has ever seen.

Gignac arrived to Tigres on June 18, 2015. Since then, he has scored 136 goals and given 31 assists in 229 games. Besides, he has won the Liga MX four times (Apertura 2015, 2016, 2017 and Clausura 2019) and the Copa de Campeones three times (2016, 2017 and 2018).
