There have been eight managerial sackings across Europe's top five leagues this season and expectedly the English Premier League leads the way with five managers sacked already, two more than the other four top European leagues combined.

The sacked managers are Watford, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Norwich City and Aston Villa. All were sacked based on results even though Steve Bruce's sacking was influenced by a new ownership who wanted a breath of fresh air at the club even though results have not gone their way regardless - they are the only club without a win this season.

The other three managers to have been sacked have been in the La Liga - Ronald Koeman, Michel and Paco Lopez of FC Barcelona, Getafe and Levante respectively while the other three leagues are yet to witness a managerial sacking.

The Premier League's high numbers are influenced by the commercial influence the club's position on the league has on the team as well as the competitiveness which doesn't allow for recovery from long spells of bad results. Each club wants to stay in the Premier League and not play in the Championship.
