At the deadline day, Arsenal moved and signed Thomas Partey from Atlético de Madrid paying the release clause of $58 million. As the Spanish team had no chance to negotiate, they are no abel to incorporate a replacement despite the transfer window has allready close.
The player that Diego Simeone would like to sign to replace Partey is the Central Africa Republic international Geoffrey Kondogbia. The midfielder aged 27 is playing for Valencia, that bought him for $25 million to Inter in 2018. But now, and with Valencia in a strange transfer window, the option for him to leave is certain.
Cadena Ser from Spain reports that Atlético has made the firsts moves to convince the player to join, but the negotiation between clubs has not even started. Valencia lost Dani Parejo and sold Francis Coquelin recently so Kondogbia could be an important piece in the devastated team coached by Javi Gracia.
Kondogbia could be a perfect replacement for Partey as Simeone looks for players with physical gifts that can adapt to his combative style of playing. For now, its just rumors but, for sure, the Argentinian head coach would love to have such a player in his squad.
