In the 2015-16 season, at just sixteen years old, Gianluigi Donnarumma earned a spot as a starter in AC Milan due to his great conditions and performances, and therefor confined Diego López to the bench. Back at that season, Gigi Donnarumma played thirty Serie A games in which rivals only scored him twenty-nine goals.

The value of the Italian goalkeeper, who is set to surpass all the imaginable records in Italian soccer both at team level and in the national squad, has gone from 500 thousand euros to his current value at 60 million euros. That value is what the market indicates, but rich clubs like Real Madrid or Paris Saint Germain, which have already been linked to him, are able to offer higher figures.

Donnarumma became the youngest footballer to make his debut for Italy's Under-21 team at 17 years and 28 days. In August 2016, Donnarumma became the youngest footballer to be called up by the Italian national team (aged 17 years, 6 months and 2 days) since 1910. The goalkeeper made his debut for the national team on September 1 at just 17 years, 6 months and 7 days, in a 3-1 loss against France.

Today it was known that Donnarumma has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss this afternoon's game against Roma. AC Milan is at the top of Serie A with 12 points out of 4 games played, a perfect score. Instead, Stefano Pioli will have to choose between 34-year-old Romanian Ciprian Tătărușanu or Gianluigi's 30-year-old brother, Antonio Donnarumma.
