Miguel Herrera has a clear path to be the next Tigres UANL coach and replace Ricardo Ferretti for the 2021 Apertura of Liga MX. Miguel is the only candidate to assume the technical direction of the auriazul team and both the board of directors and the company that administers the university club would have the decision taken to go for his services.

So far there is no agreement signed with Herrera, but the talks would be aimed at formalizing the agreement when the activity of Tigres concludes in the Clausura 2021, where they will play the playoffs. El Piojo will return to technical management at Sultana del Norte after having managed Rayados between 2004 and 2006, a team with which he played two Liga MX finals.

Ricardo Ferretti, who is living his third stage as coach of the Club Tigres, will not continue with the team for the next tournament as he doesn't reach a renewal agreement with the board. Tigres was the team of the last decade by winning five First Division titles in Mexico and with the arrival of Mauricio Culebro, the intention of the Monterrey club is to maintain the leading role.

In addition to the arrival of Miguel Herrera, the Tigres Club has contemplated appointing a sports director to be part of the board of Mauricio Culebro, who will be appointed president in the coming weeks.

Tigres UANL had a very irregular season

Tigres UANL finished in the tenth position in the standings, which is why it qualified for the Repechage of the Fiesta Grande of Liga MX. In that instance, he will face Atlas, next Saturday, as a visitor.
