Cruz Azul's coach Robert Dante Siboldi let go of a player who was not going to use and now regrets his decision.

When Robert Dante Siboldi arrived at the club, he told to one player that this position was already covered 100% by other players and that he wasn't going to use him, so the executives of Cruz Azul decided to let him go on loan. Stephen Eustáquio left Cruz Azul and went on loan to Paços Ferreira of Portugal's first division, free of charge and with a very low purchase option. So if Paços Ferreira wants to sign him full time, they won't have any problems.

Midfielder Stephen Eustáquio in January of this year went on loan to the Portuguese club and has a contract there until mid-2021. The 23-year-old Canadian was the figure of Paços Ferreira in the 3-2 victory against Fútbol Club Oporto in the past Friday, October 30 and, in addition, he scored a goal.

The former Cruz Azul is having an outstanding semester after being ruled out by the Uruguayan coach. Stephen Eustáquio arrived in January 2019  but he hasn't had the possibility to demonstrate in the Mexican soccer what kind of player he is. In his debut with Cruz Azul he suffered a ligament injury, and after that moment he had no more opportunities with La Maquina Cementera.

With this present and with the poor soccer level that current Cruz Azul midfielders have, the return of Eustáquio could be very useful for the Mexican team. Getting the Canadian back is a concrete possibility to strengthen the midfield that for the moment is occupied by Elías Hernández, Roberto Alvarado and Rafael Baca.
