FC Barcelona has made some very strange signings during the last years. The club decided to look for cheap players on some not so important teams all over Europe, after wasting fortunes on others such as Antoine Griezmann or Philippe Coutinho. One of those who arrived to fulfill a place is Martin Braithwaite.

The Denmark attacker is 29 years old and was very criticized after his sign, as fans thought that a player of his age and his conditions was not needed at Barça. Such questions generated a chaos in the club, that, plus the intentions of Lionel Messi to leave, provoked the departure of ex-president Josep María Baromeu.

Braithwaite was once compared to Ronaldo Nazario when he arrived, due to his physical conditions and his supposed capacity to score. But after 26 matches played for the Catalan side, he only scored six goals and gave a pair of assists. Hi numbers are very far away from those that everyone was expecting from him when he arrived.

If that wasn’t enough, Braithwaite achieve to fail a penalty on the game that Barcelona played against Eibar for LaLiga. The attacker was the one in charge of kicking it, as Lionel Messi was not on the field. The result was a tremendous disaster and fans make fun of him on social media, comparing him ironically with Ronaldo.
