Project Big Picture, proposed by Manchester United and Liverpool, may bring some critical changes to one of the best leagues in the world, if not the best.

The Premire League has clearly proof during the last years to be one of the best tournaments in the world. Some of the best head coaches, teams competing at a very same level and very interest teams forced the league to be the best in the world, with La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1.

But now, some changes may arrive to Premier League. Project Big Picture promoted by Manchester United and Liverpool want to radically change the format of the tournament.

To start, the project proposes to reduce the amount of teams that play in every categories of English soccer. Premier League will then have 18 teams instead of 20 and Championship will have 22 instead of 24. Fewer teams with better level seem to be the objective at this point.

Another change is to eliminate some English tournaments that are not the Premier League, such as the Carabao Cup. Project says that this competition is not important and that deteriorates players.

Another point regards the money given to the clubs by the TV. Project Big Picture proposes that the nine more powerful clubs receive 25 per cent of the income money in the league. Thins proposal is full of polemic, as weakest teams say that they want to make them even poorest.
