The offer from FC Barcelona so that Lionel Messi stays

Lionel Messi has a very uncertain future. The Argentinian legend wanted to leave FC Barcelona during the last transfer window, but finally stayed after ex-president Josep María Bartomeu denied him the possibility to depart. Now he is once again thinking on moving, during the next summer.

Barcelona has started making a strategy to convince Messi to stay. The attacker won’t receive the salary cut that most of his companions had due to the crisis that the club is going through. Also, there are some signings that could be arriving the club to help both Messi and Ronald Koeman.

One of the players that Barcelona want to sign to convince Messi to stay is Memphis Depay. The Dutch attacker aged 26 will be a free agent since June 2021, when his contract with Olympique Lyon reaches an end. After that, he is thinking that he won’t renew and that he will be moving.

Depay started his professional career on 2012 at PSV former club and afterwards moved to Manchester United for $40 million. On January 2017 he makes his transfer to OL, where he played 148 games and scored 59 goals. For Messi, he could be the no. 9 that the Argentinian legend needs.
