FC Barcelona is under a very dedicated situation. The Catalan side couldn’t achieve during the past years the wanted Champions League trophy and is now facing serious trouble both in the international competition and in LaLiga. The team doesn’t play as expected and an internal conflict has exploded.

The future of Lionel Messi is still in the air, with the Argentinian wanting to leave since the last transfer window. The financial crisis that the club is facing makes almost impossible to convince the player to stay or even to sign another top player that could occupy his role in the actual squad.

Ronald Koeman has been hardly criticized by local press, as it is said that he has almost no authority left in front of the team. Some polemic situations, as confrontations with Luis Suárez or Riqui Puig provoked that the players don’t want him any longer. His situation could be defined during the next months, even though it is likely to think he will leave if things continue this way.

Barça is already working on who could be the replacement of the Dutch and the destiny may be in the hands of a legend of the club: Xavi Hernández. The ex-soccer player is now having his first experience as a trainer at Al-Sadd SC Qatari team and could move to the club of his life after 47 matches as a head coach.

Messi gives the endorsement

The relationship between Koeman and Messi hasn’t been the best one either and the Argentinian could have put as a condition to stay that the coach should be changing and a new project should start, according to what Catalan press affirm. The possibility of Xavi as a coach is strictly linked to the desire of Messi to have him as a trainer before retiring.
