On Week 17 of tournament Guard1nes Liga MX, Cruz Azul lost against Pumas on mythical stadium Azteca 2-1. The visitors were loosing during almost all the match and achieved the victory with two goals very late on the game, both scored by the Argentinian Juan Ignacio Dinenno on minutes 86th and 90th.

After the defeat, Cruz Azul fans exploded on social media and started to point out some responsible for the incredible defeat. One of the most criticized players was José Ignacio Rivero, the Uruguayan midfielder who entered to the field almost 20 minutes before the end and had a bad performance.

Head coach Roberto Siboldi decided to send him in replacing Roberto Alvarado and fans considered that it was an unnecessary modification that the team didn’t need. The result changed drastically with him on the field and now many are asking for his immediate departure.

Rivero could now leave Cruz Azul and some other Mexican sides are interested in him. The one that has more chances to sign him is Tigres, that could pay up to $3 million to do so. The Uruguayan is currently on a loan from Xolos Tijuana and will have to go back on June 2021 but Tigres may be his new club.
