Lionel Messi’s future is still uncertain. The attacker wanted to leave FC Barcelona during the last transfer window, but he couldn’t, after ex- president Josep María Bartomeu denied him the chance. But with the president out and with his contract ending on June 2021, things have now changed for him.

The last news indicate that the salary limit that Barcelona can destinate to his players has been reduced in a 41%. That means that from the $656 million that the club was able to destiny to paying the salary of their players they now can only spend $274 million. Deep changes are now arising after this brutal transformation.

After some players agreed to reduce their salary, such as Gerard Piqué or Sergio Busquets, others didn’t accept. One of the mysterious cases is the one of Messi, who isn’t really thinking on doing so and who could finally leave if the club asks him to reduce his contract when renewing it.

Manchester City has always been the club with more chances to sign him, due to the good relationship with Pep Guardiola. But Paris Saint-Germain are also thinking on making the try, offering him some incredible conditions with which he could transform into the highest paid player ever.
