The US business group FSG, owner of Liverpool, is seeking the businessman and creator of the Moneyball theory, Billy Beane to buy 25% of their shares for a total of close to 8 billion dollars. What the FSG business group is looking for is for Liverpool to be the best club in the world in the future and for its group to have a worldwide presence.

FSG wants to imitate what Manchester City or Red Bull does, having a great presence on all continents. Billy Beane is the most important tool in this new project that Liverpool is proposing. The idea is to attract new talent at a low cost and then resell them or use them for their first teams.

Billy Beane wrote the book Moneyball where he expresses the talent recruitment method that he used at Oakland Athletics, Major League Baseball. There Beane made history by finding players who were hidden throughout the United States and led them to play at the highest level of world baseball. Liverpool wants Beane to do the same but in soccer.

Liverpool's idea is for Billy Beane to help them find those young players that they will then take to Europe. Before the big leap of playing in Liverpool they would give them to smaller teams where they will be the stars and when they are ready they will return to Liverpool. If this business goes as Liverpool hopes, the club will surely become one of the most powerful in the world.
