After three years at Club America, Miguel Herrera could leave the Liga MX side as Colombia national team is interested on signing him. Herrera has a large professional career, as he coached teams as Atlante, Monterrey, Tiburones Rojos, UAG Tecos, America and Club Tijuana in his 52 years.

Herrera was once also the coach of Mexico. He managed the national team during 36 matches, with a result of 18 victories, 11 ties and seven defeats. His last game was the victory on the final of the Golden Cup against Jamaica on July 2015, when he left after winning the title.

If the head coach arrives to Colombia it would be his second experience in a national team. First, he needs Carlos Queiroz to leave. The bad results achieved by the coach make his departure a possibility. So far in the World Cup Qualifiers he earned four points out of four matches played.

If Queiroz leaves Colombia and Herrera arrives as a coach, the plan of Club America is to sign Juan Carlos Osorio. The coach of Atlético Nacional is 59 years old and has managed Millonarios, Chicago Fire, NY Red Bulls, Once Caldas, Club Puebla, San Pablo and both Mexico and Paraguay national teams.
