Forward Jonathan Rodriguez played a vital role in Cruz Azul's 2-0 victory over Club Deportivo Guadalajara at Akron Stadium. The 27-year-old Uruguayan scored two goals in the game and Cruz Azul reached second position in the Liga MX with 29 points, seven points behind the leader León.

The team coached by Robert Siboldi dreams of winning the league after 22 years. To achieve that goal, the club has to rely on "Cabecita" Rodriguez, who is going through one of the best times of his career. However, many European clubs are trying to take the striker away.

At a press conference, coach Robert Siboldi said that Rodriguez is one of the best players he has ever coached, and he assured that the decision whether to leave or not depends on the player. He also said that it is very difficult to find players as good and decisive as Rodriguez.

Therefore, Rodriguez's future is uncertain. He is the top scorer in the Liga MX with 12 goals. In addition, a few weeks ago he was called up by the Uruguayan national team that is coached by Oscar Washington Tabarez. Due to his great performance, Euopean clubs got interested on him. Meanwhile, the Mexican team will have to do everything possible to retain his star.
