The USMNT has a great future ahead of them but there are many doubts about the level of coach Berhalter. Most of the USMNT players are already playing for the best teams in Europe, so they would be looking for a coach to match the team. USMNT has to prepare for the 2021 Golden Cup with the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar in mind.

The last hours have been very busy for the USMNT as it is believed that coach Berhalter could cease to be the coach of the team and his place would be filled by an MLS coach. USMNT did not play any friendly matches on the last FIFA date and is already expected to do so in November against Wales.

One of the coaches who have a good chance of replacing Berhalter is Matias Almeyda. The SJ Earthquakes coach has already said at the time that his idea of going to MLS was to be the coach of the USMNT in the future. From USMNT they are excited to have a coach with the characteristics of Almeyda in the face of the commitments that come.

Although the short-term objective is the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the USMNT is focusing all its plans for the 2026 World Cup since it will be played precisely in the United States. Almeyda can give the experience that young USMNT players lack and can bring much more insight than Berhalter. It would be nice to see Almeyda lead the USMNT.
