Ronald Koeman is furious: the coach revealed that a player asked to leave FC Barcelona

These are not good times at FC Barcelona. They have just lost the Spanish Supercup versus Athletic Club, and there is an institutional crisis that affects everybody, and the club is trying to recover. So it makes some sense that some players want to continue their careers at some other team.

But one of them made that request and Ronald Koeman denied it, and declared it publicly. This player is not having minutes and his agent requested an out, but it was denied because the manager wants him as a back up, despite playing only nine matches in the whole season.

That player is Neto. He is not happy with just being a replacement for Marc-Andre ter Stegen, but he will have to accept that role that Koeman imposed to him. Despite he is not quite liked by fans, the former Juventus and Valencia keeper achieved four clean sheets in those nine games, six in La Liga and the other three in UEFA Champions League. But the German keeper wants to play in all competitions and that wish was granted.

Worse for Neto, he is not likely to leave soon, because the transfers at the club are blocked and he will not join another club until there is a replacement. There was some reported interest on him from Arsenal, a team that might want him also as a back up, but with more opportunities to play in different competitions.
