The Red Devils are firmly chasing their neighbors Manchester City, who are lead English Premier League. But they could let a great name go away.

Despite Manchester United are looking up on the table and they see their neighbors Manchester City leading the English Premier League, the club can take a deep breath and understand that they have finally built a solid and competitive squad. Five points separate both city rivals, so, with 15 matches yet to be played and 45 points to grab, nothing is sentenced. Still, they are both looking at future options in the summer transfer market.

Manchester United have one special dream: signing a contract extension with Paul Pogba. The 27-year-old midfielder is expiring his deal by the end of June 2022 and they want to quickly consolidate a large term arrangement before free transfer offers come up. They also look into the possibility of signing Sergio Ramos once his contract with Real Madrid is finished in just four months. As for Manchester City they could investigate the chance of chasing Erling Haaland to replace Sergio Agüero.

As for departures, Manchester United could shock the English Premier League by releasing one of the most talented players Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has in his team, French international Anthony Martial. The 25-year-old has lost lots of terrain after the arrival of Uruguay’s star Edinson Cavani. He was bought for the 2015-2016 season for over $65 million. Now, as per Manchester Evening News, the coach and the board could let him go.

His performances were never persistent despite some nice moments, in the ongoing season he played 28 games, scoring seven goals and giving five assists. His current market value is $65 million, but perhaps, the club can release him for a lower figure to get rid of his high salary. But these could be his last months in Manchester.
