Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United has not quite gone the way he would have wanted. He started on a very high note but the ovation has receded a bit in the last games. Other than scoring goals, the team has not been in a good shape lately, winning just two games in the last six.

Ronaldo has scored three goals in four Premier League games for Manchester United, not a bad return considering the intensity of the league and at 36 he's definitely not the Ronaldo of five years ago. His Manchester United tally is only bettered by Manchester United teammate and fellow Portuguese Bruno Fernandes.

The two joint top scorers in the league are England and Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy and Egypt and Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah. Both players have scored six goals each in seven games. The Egyptian edges the English forward having also provided three assists for his Liverpool teammates compared to Vardy's one.

Cristiano Ronaldo won the golden boot in 2008 while Jamie Vardy won it in 2020. Mohamed Salah has won two back to back in 2018 and 2019. All three as well as other strikers such as Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku, Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Liverpool's Sadio Mane.
