The medical problems for Nicolás Castillo, América forward, are finally ending and he could return to the courts soon. The Chilean passed his last review and wants to return to football activity during the following July, after a year and two months away due to a thrombosis that put his life at risk.

The Americanist element revealed the news on his social networks, where he also boasts the gift he gave to the doctor William Jordan, who took care of his case all this time: an America shirt. In early 2020, Castillo underwent surgery due to a ruptured rectus femoris tendon, but during the operation a clot formed, which almost ended Nico's soccer career.

At present, he continues to train separately from the Azulcrema squad in Coapa, but was not registered for this Liga BBVA MX tournament by decision of the coaching staff of Santiago Solari. They expect him to recover 100% and return to the field of play during the next tournament.

However, not everything would be honey on flakes on the return of the forward. Nico would occupy a foreign position, which are full in the Coapa club. Each team can register 11 players who have not been trained in Mexico, of which only nine can be on the court. For this reason, "America" had to release Andrés Ibargüen and would have to release someone else when Castillo returns.

Nico's last game was on January 18, 2020, the Eagles beat Tigres 1-0 on the Azteca Stadium field. Since then, the injury that was complicated and, later, the thrombosis that put him in the operating room and a long recovery. As a player for America, Nico just completed 27 games played, scored nine goals and had three assists. In Liga BBVA MX, his time in Pumas is added, where he played 45 goalscoring matches, 26 goals for the Chilean and 6 assists.
