Miguel "el Piojo" Herrera was sacked from América last december but now he could be the ideal option to replace Andrés Lillini, coach of Pumas. After not having the best start in the Guardianes 2021 tournament, Pumas management may be considering terminating the contract to the Argentinean coach Lillini and hiring a new one.

The team that belongs to the National Autonomous University of Mexico are having a very irregular campaign so far and, even if the coaching staff has the support of the Auriazul management, things could easily and quickly change if positive results continue to be missing.

According to Mediotiempo and its information, Miguel "el Piojo" Herrera is the first one on the list to substitute Argentinean Andrés Lillini in case that Pumas struggle to performance properly and fail to enter the Liguilla, specially after getting to the Finals against Club León last season.

However, there could exist a financial problem about Miguel Herrera and his hypothetical hiring and this resides in the fact that, during his tenure as the coach of the Águilas, his salary was higher than what he could be offered if he accepts the challenge to work for Pumas. So it would be up to Herrera's to decide if he doesn't have a problem with lowering his previous salary.

Pumas are not the only ones

Another obstacle for the team from Mexico City is that Pachuca is also interested in counting with the services of the former coach of the Mexican National Team. The Uruguayan Paulo Pezzolano is not currently finding the right way to lead the Tuzos and the team lies at the very bottom of the general standings of the Guardianes 2021 of the Liga MX.
