Miguel Herrera has an obsession with winning the MX League with Club America as he would become the most winning coach in the club's history. Although Club America arrives as one of the clear favorites to be champion, Herrera excused himself in the preview of the "Liguilla" in case Club America does not win the game that it must play.

One of the biggest problems all season for Club America was the number of injured players it had. For the same reason, Miguel Herrera said that although Club America has great players and they are preparing to win, they must have all the players to be champion.

Miguel Herrera's statement was half confusing as many Club America fans felt that he was excusing himself in case they lost. He also said that the Covid situation affected the team and that players can arrive at the game with a lack of football rhythm. One of the players who is costing him the most is Federico Viñas as he has just recovered from an injury and Covid.

Miguel Herrera was doubtful during the interview and at no time did he assure that Club America was going to be champion of the MX League. For this same reason, Club America fans felt that their coach was opening the umbrella in case he failed in the final stretch of Liga MX.
