Liverpool showed why they were the clear favourites going into the match by beating the Eagles 3-0 with goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah and a wonderful strike by Naby Keita helped the Reds maintained their unbeaten start to the season and condemned Crystal Palace to another defeat against a big club after their 3-0 loss to Chelsea earlier in the season.
Jurgen Klopp fielded a relatively strong squad with Trent Alexander-Arnold missing due to illness and youngster Harvey Elliott a long time absentee after his leg injury against Leeds United last week. Liverpool also lost experienced midfielder Thiago Alcantara to injury.
