Liverpool and PSG are behind this promising center back

Both Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain need to strengthen their defenses. Liverpool, because the long term injury Virgil Van Dijk suffered represented a major problem for the team and he never could be well replaced. PSG suffered a similar problem but with Thiago Silva's departure to Chelsea.

So the scouts got to work and according to TEAMtalk, both teams are following the steps of this 22-year-old center back who has been introduced into European soccer just two years ago. This season he started to fill the expectations had on him, and with Roma he is having the best year of his career so far.

This defender is the Brazilian Roger Ibañez. He is playing for Roma at loan from Atalanta, where he had little to no oportunities. But with the Giallorossi he got great performances and got the attention of Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp. He is right-footed and although he is mainly a center back, Ibañez can play in every defensive position.

A good, young and versatile player is never something easy to find, but they did. Whoever of both who signs him will be fortunate of having solved an important obstacle for the development of the team short term. The price Atalanta would set for him goes around the 40 million euro.
