FC Barcelona is still trying to know what will be happening in their future. After the departure of president Josep María Bartomeu the club will celebrate elections on December to define who will be the new president. That may change the future of Messi, who yet doesn’t know if he will stay or leave next summer.

But, despite what Messi is doing the club has already started to work on some reinforcements that could be made in the future. David Alaba was the name that was always in Barcelona’s agenda, as Jordi Alba is already 31 years old and the club wants to sign a new top left defender.

Even though Messi agreed with the sign of Alaba, it has been said that the Austrian will now be leaving to Real Madrid. His contract with Bayern Munich ends on June 2021 and the defender cleared that he doesn’t want to renew it and that his intention is to leave for free.

His idea is to earn a salary much bigger than the one he could gain, as he will arrive to any club as a free agent. Manchester City is another club that was interested on Alaba, but that is set to lose the dispute with Real Madrid. Alaba played 394 games for Bayern, scoring 31 goals and giving 49 assists during his professional career.
