FC Barcelona is going through a huge reconstruction after some season in which the team was not able to compete at the best level in Europe. Lionel Messi’s future is still in the air, after the Argentinian legend tried to leave during the last transfer window but couldn’t do so due to ex-president Josep María Bartomeu denial.

After the departure of Bartomeu, Messi is still thinking on what he is going to do with his future and Catalan press reported that he asked for some top signings to stay. One of them in the defender Eric García, who was formed at La Masía and left to Manchester City.

García is playing under Pep Guardiola’s mandate but wants to go back to Spain, as it is reported. The player was in talks with Barcelona but after the chaos generated by Messi and the crisis of the club, he is not sure on going back. His contract with the Premier League side ends on June 2021 so moving for free at his 19 years could be a good option for him. If not, he actually has a reported value of more than $20 million.

During the last hours Real Madrid put an eye on García, knowing that the players wants to go back and are thinking on him as the replacement of Sergio Ramos. The contract of the historical defender is near the end and between him or Pau Torres the Galacticos want to have his successor.
