América CF have been seeking for options in the transfer market trying to strengthen their squad for 2021. They have a name over the table, and negotiations are going on. But first, they have a player who is recovering after many months out of action: it is Chilean Nicolás Castillo. The striker wants to be back this year.

Castillo suffered a thrombosis in the femoral artery last year and spent more than six months out of play while recovering. That allowed América to have a ‘Non-Raised’ spot in the squad. But now, they want to have the striker back, and to register him, they will need to free another of those spots.

Therefore, coach Santiago Solari and the board will have to decide if they sacrifice one of the big ‘Non-Raised’ names they have in the squad, by transferring him to another club. That would make a spot available for Castillo to be back.

Among the possible released players, there are two stars of the team: Colombians Andrés Ibargüen and Roger Martínez are rumored to be put on the transfer list. Solari and the América CF Eagles seem to want Castillo back in action. Will he be available in 2021? The other possibility would be if Paraguay’s Sergio Díaz goes away.
