Liga MX champions: the ranking of all the teams that have won in Mexico

On Sunday night, Cruz Azul or Santos Laguna will be crowned champions and will add one more star to their shield. But who is the most winning team in Liga MX?4

León was the last Liga MX champion.

León was the last Liga MX champion and climbed one notch in the select group of the tournament's winningest teams by adding five stars. With this, the Fiera tied Cruz Azul, greatly increasing its transcendence and winning record. Now, La Máquina itself and Santos Laguna are trying to climb the ranking by meeting in the final of the Guardianes 2021 tournament. The two were tied for fifth with Tigres with seven titles, but the Panzas Verdes overtook the Universitarios to get a new star on the shield.

Since the professional era, which began in the 1943-44 campaign, Liga MX has seen just over twenty teams crowned champions of the league tournament. To enter the group of more winners they need to have more than three stars.

Among those left out are clubs that compete in lower divisions such as Atlante, Zacatepec (both in the MX Ascent), Oro and Tecos de la UAG (the latter two in the Premier League, that is, Third Division). There were also champions that currently no longer exist such as Real España, Asturias, Marte and Tampico (antecedent of Tampico-Madero).
