Having the backing from a club legend can help you win an election. That’s Victor Font’s dream. He is joined by former Barcelona glory Xavi Hernández in his run for President. In case he defeats Joan Laporta and Toni Freixa, he wants to bring no less than eight new players to the team for next season. How? By grabbing free agents.

Eric García (Manchester City) is almost set to arrive. After raising in La Masía, the defender has found very few minutes for the English giants. Despite his low season given he suffered lots of physical injuries in the last monts, Sergio Kun Agüero is still a player to grab from the same team. And in case Lionel Messi stays, of course he'd be glad to play with one of his best friends.

Possibly, the transfer market’s MVP is Bayern Munich defender David Alaba. The Austrian is chased by lots of Europe’s biggest clubs. Barcelona is one of them in case Victor Font wins the president’s seat. From England could arrive Dutch star Georginio Wijnaldum, who has rejected many renewal offers in Liverpool and seems tempted to move to Barcelona.

As per reinforcements in attack, it is speculated that Olympique Lyon wants Carlos Vela. Why? In case Memphis Depay moves to Barcelona for next season. He could play as a striker or winger. Same goes on with AC Milan’s Hakan Calhanoglu. Alaba is not the only left-back on target: PSG’s Juan Bernat is also in the shortlist.

Despite Marc-André Ter Stegen is considered the best goalkeeper in the world, if not the best, Victor Font wants to bring another option. It’s Granada’s Rui Silva. The Portuguese is also of interest in Betis, Sevilla and Premier League’s Everton. And yes, Font has promised to keep Messi in the club thanks to Xavi Hernández if he wins the elections.
