Yesterday Barcelona’s temporary president Carles Tusquets set the polemic when he stated that the club should have sold Lionel Messi last summer because his wages were a torture for the bank accounts of Barcelona. Today, in a press conference, the coach Ronald Koeman showed his discomfort with the words of his superior.

Koeman’s job has been judged since he was appointed and saw this moment as an opportunity to strengthen his relationship with the squad, which has been weak since the beginning. The roster is very fond of Messi and wants a 180 degrees change in the headquarters of the club.

The Dutch coach stated that only Messi himself is allowed to decide over his own future, and he earned his right to do so. And he after expressed his disappointment with Tusquets saying his words do not help in this delicate moment because a lack of peace of mind is not exactly what Barcelona needs in these difficult times.

Then, Koeman communicated his disinterest on comments disregarding the club’s efforts outside Camp Nou, but manifested that disruptive public criticism is never useful and everybody must strive for the wellbeing of the institution, in different ways than the shown by Tusquets.
