Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of PSG, was involved in a scandal after the elimination of PSG in the round of 16 of Champions League by Real Madrid, as he decided to face the referee of the match demanding an explanation for his decisions. But when he realized he had been recorded, he threatened to end with the Real Madrid employee’s life: “I’m going to kill you”.

He was not the only one mad for the result

On his way to face the referee, Al-Khelaïfi run into Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, who was also looking for an explanation of the polemic decision. Both were heard screaming and insulting everyone on their path.

But instead of finding the referee, they arrived at the locker room of Carlos Megía Dávila, former referee and pitch delegate of Real Madrid, where the altercation begin, as they tried to open the door while insulting Makkiele, who was not there.

A Real Madrid employee recorded the scene, and when the Qatari realized what happened, he swoop against him and threatened to kill him. The claims turned into an altercation in which both Al-Khelaïfi and Leonardo were involved, as well as some PSG players, according to reports from Sport, which is why the police had to intervene and end the quarrel.

 

Pochettino also blamed the referee for the elimination

During the press conference after the game, Mauricio Pochettino, PSG coach, said that he left the Santiago Bernabéu stadium with a sense of injustice, as he couldn’t understand why the referee didn’t call the foul over Donnarumma on Real Madrid’s first goal.
