Lionel Messi arrived in Paris yesterday for his much-talked-about move to Paris Saint-Germain. The 6-time Ballon d'Or winner was given a majestic welcome to the City of Love as thousands of fans came out to welcome the player to the City. Messi was in town to complete a two-year deal after been in Barcelona for 21 years.
Since Messi has never played in any city other than Barcelona, the player and his family will have to put up in a temporary residence while they look to buy a house. He and his wife (Antonella Rocuzzo) and children (Thiago, Mateo & Ciro) have chosen to stay at the enchanting 'Le Royal Monceau' hotel in the Parisian city. The self-acclaimed 'Parisian Palace' is a 5-star hotel situated on the prestigious Avenue Hoche. It is just a few steps from the iconic Champs Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe.
Staying in this hotel is just as expensive as it sounds with a room for two adults costing a minimum of €885 per night. However, there are numerous luxurious features in the hotel. The hotel boasts 149 luxurious rooms and 3 exquisite presidential suites. The hotel also has a 1500m spa as well as a 23-meter pool. There are 3 world-class restaurants as well as numerous dine-and-wine sections.
Lionel Messi is expected to be presented to the Paris Saint-Germain fans today after he put pen to paper on a deal worth €35m a year in wages. He is also due to receive €25m as his signing-on fee after he left Barcelona on a free transfer.
